1.Delete your account from the app

This is the fastest route and needs no reply from us. In the Daazia app:

  1. Open Account from the bottom tab bar.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  3. Read what will be removed and what has to be kept, then confirm.

The screen tells you before you confirm whether anything is currently blocking deletion — see when we cannot delete yet.

2.Ask us to delete it instead

If you have uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would simply rather we did it, email support@daazia.com from the address on your account, or send us the phone number you signed up with.

We reply within one working day and complete the deletion within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm one detail of a past booking before we act — a request to erase an account is exactly the request an impersonator would make, so we check.

You can also reach us on WhatsApp at 053 414 6655, though email gives us a written record of the request, which is better for both sides.

3.What deletion removes

Once the request completes, all of the following are erased:

  • Your name, phone number, email address and profile photo.
  • Your saved addresses, and the venue details on your events — the address, the GhanaPostGPS code, the map pin, the landmark, access instructions and the on-site contact name and number.
  • Your notification preferences.
  • Your sign-in credentials, active sessions and any authenticator you enrolled. The account can no longer be signed into by anyone, including us.

Any open support requests are closed at the same time, so nothing is left in a queue addressed to an account that no longer exists.

4.What we have to keep, and why

Deletion here is anonymisation. Your bookings, payments, refunds, deposits, damage claims and disputes remain, stripped of anything that identifies you. We cannot remove them, for three reasons:

  • They are financial records. A payment we took and a refund we issued have to reconcile against the payment provider and our own ledger. Deleting one side of a completed transaction would leave money unaccounted for.
  • They are the supplier’s record too. A booking is an agreement between two parties. A supplier who delivered goods keeps their evidence of having done so.
  • They may still be contested. A dispute or damage claim is a factual record of what happened, and erasing it while it is open would decide the outcome by default.

What survives is a booking with no name, no phone number and no address attached. Reviews you left stay published without your name, because removing them would distort a supplier’s rating built from other customers’ honest feedback.

5.When we cannot delete yet

Four situations pause a deletion rather than refuse it. In each case the app tells you which one applies:

  • A booking still in progress. Deleting mid-way would leave a supplier with a delivery and nobody to hand over to. Wait for it to complete or cancel it.
  • A deposit we still hold. That is your money. It is returned after the return inspection, and the claim window is 24 hours.
  • An open dispute. Both sides have to stay reachable until it is resolved.
  • You own a supplier business.A business outlives any one person’s account, so ownership has to be transferred or the business archived first. Email us and we will walk you through it.

Once the blocking item clears, delete the account and it goes through immediately. We do not queue the request in the meantime, so come back and confirm it.
